Representative Ken Gottlieb (D-Hollywood) was officially
sworn in as the Broward Legislative Delegation Chair Monday, November
10th, during a delegation meeting at the Hollywood Central Performing
Arts Center. Gottlieb served as Vice Chair of the Delegation for
the last year and succeeds Senator Steve Gellar (D-Hollywood) as
Delegation Chair. Senator Skip Campbell was elected to replace Rep.
Gottlieb as Delegation Vice-Chair.
In the over ten years of his elected public service, Rep. Gottlieb
has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and proven himself as a well-liked
and respected legislator by both his peers and constituents. Gottlieb
is widely recognized for his desire and ability to foster bi-partisan
coalitions and his skill to negotiate thoughtful and positive outcomes
in difficult situations. Although, Gottlieb may best be known for
his understated demeanor, it actually is his fierce dedication to
the people of Broward County that fuels his resolve, and ultimately
will suit him well as the Broward Delegation Chair.
Currently in his third term, Representative Gottlieb was elected
to the Florida State House of Representatives in 1998. First elected
to public office in 1992, Gottlieb served six years as a Hollywood
City Commissioner until he was elected to the Legislature. A life
long resident of Hollywood, Gottlieb, practices law in Hollywood
and lives with his wife Jennifer and sons Harrison (5) and Tyler
(3) in the Hollywood South Lake neighborhood.
Representative Gottlieb is an active member of the Hollywood Chamber
of Commerce, the Hills Democratic Club, and other professional and
civic organizations. Mr. Gottlieb was awarded the Price Waterhouse
/ South Florida Business Journal's Up & Corners Award. |
